Seal has an important role in the calligraphic artwork. It is not only used for a signature of the calligrapher, but also could be used as a decoration, which could strongly dress up and enhance the art effects for the artworks.

The seal works are engraved on stone by metal chisels in the following demonstrations.

In this seal, the stone was cut along the words strokes, the other areas are leaved as background.

Another type of seal can be created by removing the background of the character and leaving the strokes and edges for printing
